I can get some real nice alfalfa hay for the rabbits , would you have less waste if it was ground or more of a course chopped ?

Thanks
Bob

The more you touch it, the more the leaves will shatter. I'm feeding orchard grass/alfalfa and I know most of the alfalfa leaves just fall through the bottom cage wire. :( I try to put it on their ceramic tiles so they eat more of it.

I can't keep straight alfalfa from molding in the humid southeast, but the couple of times I tried the super-compressed bales, I took my serrated bread knife out to the barn and sawed the flakes into smaller squares.

have you tried putting in in a dish or pan with small holes in the bottom ?? I was thinking even if ground or chopped small a person could put it in a feeder
