One of Gypsy's many activities at school is the Foreign Exchange Club. This year they were offering wreaths for sale. Of course, grandma bought one from Gypsy. I also had her get a battery powered light set for the wreath.

Today I asked her to put the lights on the wreath she'd brought home. She complained, "It's too cold." "I'll just leave the front door open so people can see the wreath at night." It's not my job. You bought it, I brought it home. End of sale!"

Too smart for her britches (at almost 15), indeed, she teasingly reminded me that, "I also sold people boxes of fruit for the Band fundraiser and they don't call me up to peel the oranges they bought."

Who thinks like that? Mom and I couldn't stop laughing at the thought.

:love I love her sense of humor. :gig She is so much fun! :thumbsup And she will hook up the lights.

You have created a quick-witted, creative future world leader, there, Red. I love her reasoning, and I love that you are certain she will hook up the lights eventually (maybe in her own sweet time, haha)

She follows her own path, and that makes you glad that she thinks for herself. She adores you, and you adore her. Nothing beats a hug from Grandma.

She is talking music arts or culinary arts as options right now, but you are right about the verbal gymnastics she can manage. She should do well in whatever she decides to do. . . . if she stays out of trouble. I fear Maverick is better at learning life lessons vicariously. Gypsy may have to make her own mistakes. Still, she seems to be improving in listening to adult advice as long as she isn't forced to sit and listen. Her parents have definitely done a great job with the two of them. (I may have helped a bit, as well.)
