The other picture is a compost pile he built in the bin Monday that is smoking. This picture is a picture of half finished compost on the ground. What will probably happen with the smoking pile is it will stop cooking. He will try to take it apart and stir it and get it going again. If he left it there for 18 months (like you were saying in another thread) then it would finish, but he takes it out and puts it on the ground. Inside that it is dark, but still not finished.
