I've been looking around online for info on installing a hand water pump. They have some that goes down the casing of ones existing electric well pump. Thats a little to expensive for my budget, although te well is already in place. It's like $1500. or better by the time you get done.
I've found info on driving your own well by hand, which can be difficult if you run into a rock or hard clay.Plus the fact that i'm no spring chicken...! This seems to be the most cost effective way. It also depends on how deep you have to go.I think in my area one hits water at about 50-60 ft.
I was wanting to know if anyone here has ever driven there own well point and installed a water hand pump.I was hoping to find someone online that sells a complete kit for the whole job, but it seems to be a "ala carte" affair.I've found places that sell this and that, but not a complete DIY kinda kit...Anyone with links to such a website..?
I would love to have a hand pump well for when there are power outages or a possible longer term emergency were one wouldn't be able to buy gas and run a generator.
We all know that all life depends on water being availible on a regular basis.
Any shared experiences , knowledge would be great..
