During the first world war, Turkey attacked the people of Hyastan with the intention to exterminate the nation. While fighting to save as many lives as possible Armenia was attacked form the east by the Soviet. Russia, Mother Russia, had been a friend to Christian countries had fallen to the Communist forces those forces now had come enslave other peoples. The Armenians that remained in Western Armenia, captured by the Turks, were killed over the next 5-7 years (it took time to kill that many people then!) and western Armenia was renamed Turkey. eastern Armenia became part of the Soviet Union and remained until the Russians themselves were able to throw off the communist yoke. In 1991 Hyastan (Armenia) became independant. Armenia is a postage stamp piece of her former land, but the Armenian Nation and people was not wiped from the earth.
