The Declaration of Independence, signed in 1776, was written as fact, but there were a lot of crossed fingers through the Revolutionary War praying for it to become truth. Not so the Constitution. It was written, not as a list of great suggestions for future Americans, but as the Law of the Land.
Today we celebrate our independence. Let us celebrate our Constitution daily, keeping "We the People" close to the truths of our God given rights and true to the document that made our country exceptional in the world.
Have fun with family and friends. Enjoy the camaraderie and the fireworks. Appreciate the freedoms offered in this country and work to keep America free.
Happy Independence Day (yes, and a blessed Independence Day, as well) to all Americans.
