We went to our DD's house today for late lunch/early dinner. We played with the grand kids and had some nice family time. DSIL has STARR tests next week and he stresses over it, so needs tomorrow to relax and clear his mind. He wants his students to do well on their tests. Tomorrow I will work in my garden.

Bob how is your wife feeling ? My mother grew up in the Bronx world of Blacktop. she never had any interest in gardening or flowers. But there was one flower she liked common name was mountain pink, low growing ground cover. Going to search nursery today for it, I want to plant a large patch in her memory.

Went to a small family owned nursery Micheal's and sons was surprised it was empty on Mothers day. I know they are one of few places that carry Ivy geraniums. I also picked up 8 plants of mountain pinks ( creeping Phlox) 4 deep purple 4 light lavender. Not sure where I will plant them

they seem to like dry rocky areas. i've tried to transplant small pieces of them and had limited success. seems to do much better when planted in larger chunks. might do well in your planters. :)

ours gets overgrown by weeds easily, but at least i know what to do next time i move a chunk of it (if it ever recovers). it's blooming now...
