Garden Master
My MIL was hoping I could hunt one up for her online. Here's some pics . She believes that she was told they may even grow wild around here, but I've never seen one (unless they had confused it with the trumpet vine, which does.) Just wondering what you guys might know about it. Thanks!
ETA: I did find the difference between the crossvine and the trumpet vine. Both are in the same family, Bignoniaceae; but are different plants. The crossvine is capreolata var. atrosanguinea and the trumpet vine is
Campis radicans. They look very similar in bloom, but the crossvine blooms more prolifically. Also the leaves are arranged differently and are evergreen on the crossvine. Anybody grow it? It's beautiful!
