Wow, look at that acorn squash !! :thumbsup Its getting big how many of those do you have? I was thinking of planting some this year but you know when you plant so much, you end up running out of room. I seem to prefer butternut squash than acorn squash but their both good.
Never heard of sprite melon before i wonder what their like?

Thanks for the pics vfem!! ;)

Happy to share, as I'm happy with the squash. :D I only have 2 on the vine and a third getting ready to bloom to be pollinated. I have butternut squash too, but no flowers yet.

The sprite melon is almost exclusive to NC. Its a hybrid melon literally the size of my fist at full size. Green flesh, looks like a mini honeydew, slightly hard flesh, but a sweet mixed flavor. Kinda like honeydew, cantaloupe and apple in flavor. Its very mild... I bought one and ate it in July, kept a few seeds and popped them in the ground just to see what happened.

The leeks I planted in MAY! They wanted cool weather so they've been dormant until now. :watering

Those look so nice!!!

I never have good luck with squash here!! I had better luck in Alaska with squash!! Here it never fails I get vine borers!! even with BT they still are a horrible pest!! Then they just get some fruit set... and we will have a really hot windy day, and the plant can't keep up with loss of moisture, and the fruit falls off !!

I didn't even really plant a summer garden this year. Our water bill is now $65.00 BEFORE I even turn on a faucet!! I am not happy with our new water rates!!
