this morning Mom calls one of her friends to wish her a Merry Christmas and all that... after talking a few moments the friend says she'll call her back. so Mom is waiting there and the phone rings and she picks it up and says, "Did you have to tinkle?" (no hello or any other greeting) dead silence...

it was my Dad calling to talk. so she told him i was in the shower.

she didn't recognize his voice. lol

we've been laughing about this since.

i did call him back and we talked for a while.

her friend hasn't called back yet...

Don't you hate it when someone you want to talk to calls at the most inconvenient moment?

we don't have cell phones or any other gadgets other than the answering machine. it doesn't even have caller id so if someone doesn't leave a message and we don't recognize their voice we may not call them back. we normally don't even have the ringer on so the answering machine screens our calls for us. once in a while when we're expecting a call we have the ringer on so we can pick up, but otherwise we don't have to deal with telemarketers/scammers.
