Help in rooting a epiphyllum orchid cactus!!

It is my first time rooting a epiphyllum orchid cactus, and would like some help and expertise on how to do it properly.

Here is a picture of it:

Should I plant in the soil the bottom part (base) of the triangle? Or should I put in the tip??

I was told different things, and someone said either way will work, is that true?

I think it could only grow "up". OOPS. Stick it in dirt.
