Boy, isn't it nice to see that sunshine come out again? We've finally come out of the freezing temps just today here as well. There's still a lot of snow on the ground, but it shouldn't last long.

Hello Chickbuff. Can we assume you have chickens? Or are you just Buff? You bet that sun an 40 degrees today feels wonderful. Yesterday's snowfall set a record for our area. One I do not care to set again. So ready for spring and MUD.

Welcome ChickBuff, don't mean to rub it in but I always have sunshine. In fact, I just planted another Fall Gold raspberry this morning. I think spring is just around the corner for many of you even though it doesn't seem like it.

Welcome to TEG! It must be fun to have the weather feeling like spring is nearing. I must admit to a bad case of zone envy when I hear others get to play in their gardens. Mine is buried under piles of snow.

You will find this group of gardeners are knowledgable and friendly. I hope you stop in frequently and share often.

Well, we had about 58 degrees here today, but the ground is still frozen pretty solid. Except for the first inch of mud. so I satisfy my spring fever by going through my seed packets and planting a few in flats. Welcome, Chickbuff. What kind of chickens do you have?

Hi Chickbuff!

Well, I don't know what the story is with our deeply frozen ground! We have had temperatures above freezing for several days. That means, like a low of 32°f and a high of 41°. However, if it goes above 40° there's always 35mph to 45mph winds! This afternoon, it rained! Maybe, close to ½".

Yesterday, the last patch of early December snow in my yard - melted! There is still some February snow out there but there was this tiny patch near the road that I piled more snow on over the last 2 months. Hey, it still counted! I just didn't pile the most recent snow in all the right places.

Typically, our frost goes down 4 feet. This year "THEY" are saying the frost is nearly 6 feet down. Most of the city water pipes are just under 4 feet. That is what the say to explain the frozen pipes all over town.

Tomorrow will be another (3rd) over 40º day, but with rain and sleet. Whether it will help melt and thaw is still to be seen. The recent weather forecast has temperatures later in the week nearing -7º (F). NOT good for this time of year. Sigh!
