Smart Red, I never say I've lived a deprived life. I always say a sheltered life. There is a difference.

What I want to know is, does it taste like chicken?

No, it tastes like squirrel -- a bit gamey for chicken. Deprived isn't all that bad. When I first typed the post I had "depraved life". BIG difference! You are lucky I noticed and changed it!

Culturally deprived in that you missed out on parts of other ways of life. Sheltered has nothing to do with enjoying squirrel or (even better) frogs legs. Our son complained once that he was culturally deprived because he'd never been taken for a vacation. We took off for a week tripping around Wisconsin so's he couldn't say that anymore. I didn't mean anything bad with the use of that word. Am I deprived because I haven't been outside the USA? I think so.

Life is a wonderful hodge podge of opportunity. Take a bite of squirrel if you ever get the chance.
