I am new to this message board. Found it while searching for weird looking thing in my garden lol. Yesterday at the base of one of my tomatoe plants and one green pepper plant was a weird looking thing, and I figured must be some kind of mushroom:/. I made a new raised garden and bought packaged soil. Am also using a little mulch to retain moisture.

I tried getting a pic of it but it didnt come out clearly. When I split it in half, it was sort of hollow and off white/beige in color. I can try posting the pic I took but it is already broken apart and not very clear. Does anyone have any idea what it might be. I know it's not a cut worm, had them before and know how they look

Welcome! Welcome! I have had fungus type stuff grow in mulch and compost... If it is not taking over the entire garden I wouldn't worry about it.

:frow Hi gammy58! :welcome

LOL, I'd like to say your description sounds like a morel mushroom, but that's probably just because I still have them on my mind. Guess we'd need a pic, really. :)

Hi and welcome!

I find all kinds of mushroom and things growing in my gardens and mulched beds. Always something new and half of them I never know WHAT kind they are. Sometimes they come back over and over, other times I never see them again. :hu
