I am so excited! I have finally been able to grow a tomatoe in a pot!:celebrate Now the problem is I don't know when it's ripe.

It is a black krim. It started getting a blush about a week ago. Tomatoes ripen slowly here because of our cool weather.

How do you know when heirlooms or colorful tomatoes are ready?
I like to leave my tomatoes on the vine for a couple of days after they turn red for the sugars to do their thing.

Squeeze VERY GENTLY. If it's ripe it will give slightly. Careful not to bruise it.
