Good question! I just spray down the soil while I'm watering everything else. Sometimes I forget them since they are in a huge pot off to the side.

I haven't read anything about how much water they need either?!

I've got mine buried about 1-1.5 ft into the ground. I have just been filling it for a few minutes, not letting it get too high and it seems to be working. The other day I forgot about my water and it overflowed into all of my rows! I expected them to rot in the ground, but pretty much all have shown up! I'd like to hear this answer too.

I just watered them with all the other plants... and once they came up i read taht the period when they flower it is crucial that they get LOTS of water if you want a good harvest so I doubled their water during the flowering time.
