What do we call this naturalistic style, art nouveau? There is another word but it escapes me. I thought it was a rather remarkable picture of the opening of Mt Rainier Park to auto tourism, or a part of it, anyway.
Surely, it wasn't me holding the reins and in 1932, I might not have even been thought of.
The next photo in this book had the same dancers beside a mountain lake, also with Rainier in the background. Very surreal without the Chevrolet transportation.
It was in a book on a photographer who was also an advocate for the creation of the park. He seemed to be something of a hero to the author - perhaps, deservedly so. But, his sense of artistry was a bit bizarre.
Most of the pictures were from 100+ years ago.
This was the latest.
I agree with @Smiles Jr. but this struck me as funny and fit my mood at the moment. The mountain is majestic, despite what might be taking place in the foreground .
Those women aren't actually pulling that car. The reins aren't connected to the vehicle anywhere. Those must be exercise bands.
The gals in back are just excited about taking their turn.
