About a week ago I sent off my order to High Mowing Organic Seeds with my very first seed order! I'm sure it has arrived at their no doubt very busy facility by now, and my order is in a very long line of other orders to be processed. I've never ordered anything from a catalog ever, so I'm not sure how long I can expect to wait.

How long does it usually take for you to get your order?

i've ordered online from a few so i'm sure those orders are filled quickly since Baker's Creek only takes a few days. FedCo, Johnny's and Pine Tree which are the next state over from NH have taken about 2-3 days to send seeds.

as for filling out a paper order form and check i'm not sure how long it takes for those to be filled and sent to an address.

Unless they grow all their own seeds, they may not even have the ones you ordered in yet. I have only ordered from Baker Creek and Richters, and it only took a couple of weeks, at most. But it was later in the season. It is good if you hit the window between "too early to have the seeds in" and "too busy to get to your order right now."

Online. I have waited as long as 3 weeks. This was a major seed retailer and I won't name names. They never took that long before, or since. I think I may be on their "problem customer list" now because they send me an email every time they move that seed order 6"!

Yeah, I was getting a little frantic and, after sending them 3 emails with no response, had begun to buy and sow the same seed from other suppliers. My last email compared their performance to other companies. I bet that put a kink in their tail. It was and is a good company - something went wrong.

A couple of years ago, I had a backorder situation with a different outfit. After 11 days I politely inquired where the seeds were that they did have of hand. Quick response, apology, follow-up email ... I even got a company notepad and a couple of pens from them :D.

I can't remember back too many years but those were the worst case scenarios from the last 20 years.

:) Steve

3 weeks is just fine. It's only January after all. :) I don't think they grow all of their seeds. They do show lots of articles on what they grow and how they grow it, but they also reference other seed "partners"

from the time i hit submit it takes roughly 5-7 business days for delivery, now there has been times some seeds have been backordered but they are delivered in time to germinate or popped in the ground....

Seems like it's about a week or so for me too. I've ordered from Reimer, Victory Seed Company, Wild Boar farms, the now defunct Gleckler Seedmen, and Baker Creek.

I really like the selection at both Victory & Baker Creek and try hard to keep my focus on them. Wild Boar farms has some great tomato varieties too.

I also try to get my ordering done be early January too.
