I usually get one or two per plant, pruning the tips of the vine back after a couple start to set. You'll get bigger melons that way.

ETA: and :welcome !

Carol Dee, that is the cutest little melon I've ever seen! What do you do to keep them so petite ;) ?
Maybe next year we should have a tiniest melon growing contest!
The melon critic is pretty cute too....

I wish I knew why they do not get any bigger or grow at all! I am pretty sure it is the poor soil. Our garden is on an old landfill site. We have been adding layers of compost, mulched leaves etc for about 12 years. (To the main garden area.) What hubby tilled up for additional space is still lacking in amendments. Working on that.

We think Grandson is pretty cute , too. He is Papa's helper. We even planted broccolli at his suggestion!

Oh-oh we better get a pic before it is all eaten! Nice for a 1st attempt. Only put in 4 plants. (Not as big as the stuff at grocery store.)

That is a cute little melon, Carol!

We get about 1 or 2... if we leave any more they barely grow at all and I lose a bunch. :(

This year I have so many tangled vines, I couldn't tell ya who was growing from where?! I don't think I can pull off the extra since I don't know where the extra for each vine would be?! :/

I had 3 or 4 per vine on my orangelo's last summer. And the moment they got ripe my guineas flew over the tall fence and pecked them all so I came home to cracked melons... and the ones that werent ripe had beak gouges all over... Not happy.
