I replaced a small 2 drawer desk at work. I put it for sale cheap on Craigs List. I have 3 different people wanting it. It just dawned on me I need to empty it. I can not believe how much junk this little desk held. I have piles of papers everywhere !! Some are dated over 5 years ago !!!! How often do you go though and clean your desk? Do you share desk or only you use ?

I avoid paperwork like the plague. I store all things on computer. Much easier to store and find. My office is cluttered thanks to wife. She is border line hoarder.....especially paperwork.

Just as a HEADS UP ... According to the IRS as mandated by the Senate and House of Representatives ... one should keep all income, business, expense and medical paper trail records with supporting payment receipts and sorted as to type of tax return claims for 7 years in case of an audit. Audits are randomly computer generated. If you do not have this type of records during an audit, you will have to provide any and all paper evidense to support your tax return or the claim will be denied. Quickbook ,your ledger, computer and such records without a paper trail of proof of payments DO NOT constitute as evidense of payment of billing and that claim will be dinied with back taxes due with interest and penalties for insufficient record keeping evidence . Paper trail is of utmost importance. All records should be shreded AFTER 7 years ONLY ! :old
