Hi! I just found this awesome forum after seeing Russ Crow listed on Baker Creek for one of his seeds. After looking him up his awesome beans website led me here.
A little about me, I have Ehlers Danlos and after 12 years of not being able to really walk, much less garden, I'm doing much better and have jumped back into gardening full throttle this year. I take care of an older friend in my congregation and garden for her too. We both love roses and tomatoes and cucumbers 😊. I'm married to a red bean's and rice loving cajun, which has gotten me interested in beans. And in my gardening research I've learned a lot about natural growing techniques. I couldn't garden for years so I did a LOT of reading and watching videos. I look forward to learning even more here! An offshoot of learning to garden is also learning how to use the fruits of my labor to make yummy and nutritious food as I also have an immune disease that acts like I'm trying to poison my body every time I eat lol. So I have to be very careful of ingredients, it's better if I cook for myself and even better if I grow my own food so nothing is sprayed with preservatives as stores do with fresh produce. I'm learning about fermentation this year since pickled anything is my favorite food. Pictured is my first attempt this week at fermented green tomatoes with the last of the garden fruits. As a child we would get pickled green tomatoes when I'd visit my Grandparents in Jersey and I'm trying to recreate that flavor memory. ❤
