About a month ago I had some friends over for cocktails. Half way into the night a friend suggested a game. We went to a website for people in prison looking for pen pals, we each picked a prisoner and wrote to them. My mother didn't raise any fools, I picked some one doing life, was taking no chances of them one day showing up at my door. Time went by and I forgot all about it till today. I got 2 letters from to different prisoners neither one was who I wrote to originally. The person I wrote to had enough pen pals and passed my infor around to other inmates. I didn't see that coming !! Not sure what to do now. They are both in a prison in Gatesville texas, need to look up there release dates and crimes.

@Nyboy, be careful! As soft-hearted as you are, you might get asked for money or a cell phone, or no telling what.
Years ago I read an article about women in prison. A particular woman was featured. I was so moved by the conditions women face in prison, I wrote her, and she wrote back. We didn't continue the correspondence though.
I have often thought I would get something out of becoming acquainted through the mail, with a person in prison, but, like you found, there may not be boundaries. And I don't need someone in stripes knocking on my door saying "Surprise! Early Release!"

Remember that Seinfeld segment where George gets a pen pal from a woman's prison? Jail break and George had an orange jumpsuit at his door.
I guess I didn't see that one. But reruns are being shown, so it is probably still out there.
