I just planted seeds outside and it is pouring cats and dogs?

It rained most of the day Sunday and has been raining all morning from like 2 am. Should I cover the garden beds so they don't float away? They were on a seed tape not just in the soil.

Ummm.... hmmmmm :/

I'm wondering what your drainage is like in your bed and how hard the rain is. Is the seed tape above or below soil? If you feel you don't want it to wash away you can always cover it with a clear plastic tarp.

I've never direct sown in my beds, I've only direct sown in my pots.

Wish I was more help.

They are raised beds with a combination of top soil, peat moss and mushroom compost. The seed tape is about 1/2" undder the soil.

As I am half way home from Wal-Mart with not a store in sight unless I turn around and drive 10 minutes I think...OH I could get a plastic matress cover and put it on top of my raised vegetable beds.

My mind was just a little to late tonight

I'm sure a plastic sheet would be fine. It's just so they don't wash away. I think they will be ok though since they are buried.
