But I ended up cleaning out the potting shed instead.

I had remembered that I needed lime to put in the planting holes for the tomatoes. It was buried on the junked up side of the potting shed.
Well phooey. I just decided...time to do some sweeping and cleaning and organizing. The bag of lime....was waaay back on a bottom shelf. The bag has a split in the side. Too heavy anyways.

So....now the potting shed is clean...organized..the windows are back to open..with the screens. :celebrate

The old starter pots with dead stuff in them..... :hide ...all. emptied and stacked. :clap

I finally got to the bag of lime. Took me a while to figure out what to put some in. I found a metal stock pot that i had bought for another project.

So...tomorrow morning...while it is still cool... I can transplant the tomatoes :woot

That ended up being a great "side track!" What is it about gardening that causes us to be such slobs? I just hate to get rid of anything I might need or use in the garden. Sounds like you have a great start to your gardening season. Enjoy!

Last year my potting shed projects got sidelined by a bunch of escapee chicks. I had 3 hatches.....April/May....July...and August. We were trying out brooding them in their run and respective chicken tractors.
They kept escaping. :he Well.....mama can't protect them if they are outside of the fence. :barnie So I had to keep filling in escape routes.

All of my stuff in the potting shed......died.

I didn't intend to do quite as much as I did today. My hands are sore and blistered everywhere. Still, I had a lot of fun.

Worked in the garden beds cleaning the winter weeds out. I must admit today was the first day of this season where I was over-heated while working. The temps reached mid-70's and a sweatshirt was nearly unbearable, but I stuck with it. Three more beds cleaned and the weeds on the west side of the garden fence are cut down. I am hoping to plant sunflowers along that fence this year.

I have tomato plants on the table, waiting to go outside. Have the garden ready, will plant next week.

Sometimes you gotta clean up the old mess before you make a new mess!
