so lucky
Garden Master
Today I found just a very few Japanese Beetles on my beans, so maybe they are done for the year.
And, I think the baby bunnies that have been eating the lower leaves and new sprouts on the beans have gotten too fat to get through the fence. Also I have been using blood meal around the beans, and that may be discouraging them.
Now, if I could just revive the tomato and pepper plants that the rain and horrible heat is killing......
Actually I had the audacity to transplant a volunteer tomato plant that was growing in the sweet potatoes. I put it where one had withered in the heat and or drowned. The volunteer was as large as the dead Big Beef that I started inside in March. I set the tomato cage back around it, and used a feed bag to make a tent around it to keep most of the sun off. I had to split the feed sack and use clips to keep it in place, but it has worked well for a couple of days, no wilting down at all.
