Does anyone have ideas for building a small water feature like a pond? Not out of concrete... This kind of goes along with my post from earlier about the yard that is nothing but gravel. Thank you.

I suppose the kiddy pool in my yard for the ducklings doesn't count? No, didn't think so. That's as technical as I get but I'm sure someone will have a better idea than me.

Well, it's not a pond, but a friend of mine has a half barrel in her garden, and she hung a bright red watering can above it on a shepherds hook, ran some clear tubing up the SH ( connected to a pump ) and the water comes out the watering cans spout and splashes into the half barrel. It's very charming.

I found this blog and the author has a lot of cool things. But one of her older posts is on galvanized water troughs. She has some with water gardens in them and then you can also use them for flowers or veggies. I know that your handyman could help you with drilling holes in the bottom for the plants. And maybe it would remind you of the farm a bit. :)

penick.net was the address and I think it started on page 4

You could use a horse water trough. Used is best bc they are pricey, new. But they all have a plug to empty the contents and you could run a hose through THAT without drilling any holes.
BTW, they come in both plastic and aluminum/steel.
