Ideas for DIY Water Fixture/Design?

Does anyone have ideas for building a small water feature like a pond? Not out of concrete... This kind of goes along with my post from earlier about the yard that is nothing but gravel. Thank you.

A lot of people buy a pre-formed pool made from heavy duty plastic. It doesn't leak and often you buy an aerator, or build a small hill and "waterfall" the water down to a pump. You can fill it with rocks--if I made one I'd put in comets and water flowers.
