If you had a spaghetti squash how would you cook it?

It's been a long time since I grew spaghetti squash- and I didn't grow this one- so I have forgotten how I cooked it back then.

I could google it, but I'd rather hear from people I can trust on different preparation methods.

And also it will give me somebody to blame if it doesn't turn out. :D

Oh, I'm just kidding! Get back in here and tell me how to cook this sucker!

Rainy rainy day, ditched work and have time to come up with a dinner idea for dh before dinnertime. He'll be shocked!!

i got 1 out of the garden this year so i'm also curious how to cook it. the only way i can think if is to scoop out the innards and throw them in some salted water like you would cook pasta.

Thanks SeedO! That's kind of the way I was thinking, but was unsure of the amount of time.

I think what I did was to halve it and clean it, then put it cut side down on a baking sheet with a bit of water and throw it in the oven for ....awhile?

I've done it this way and it came out really good. I also tried baking it cut side up, loaded with tomato sauce, feta cheese and bacon...it was okay but surprisingly not great. I think if i was going to try that again, i'd bake it alone, cut side down, then scrape out the spaghetti and stir it in with other ingredients.

Your welcome! I am the family squash-baker and that just happens to be my favorite way of doing it (I use it for winter squash to).

Forgot to mention that you might want to strain the finished product if it happens to be too wet for your liking.

Yup Seed-o got it. I had them coming out of my ears last year and that's the best way (in my opinion).
