Solvang, California is a town where the houses are built in the Danish style and founded by the Danish.

Maria Jacobsen is a lady who actually saved the lives of some, who were being transported to their death as well as pointing out to the world that this was being done and was the sole intention of the Turks Program: To kill a Nation!

Maria was/is thought of almost as a Saint, there was some risk in her undertaking.

There is so much important history that I have been totally unaware of. It seems like things that happened in the rest of the world are totally ignored by our teaching system.
Well, not totally, but it seems that we learn world history only as it applies to us.
Oh, never mind. I don't want to climb up on my soapbox this morning.

No, you're right, like we were taught about America, how it came to be what is America. Today, I don't think they teach that, from what I have heard, kids, our kids are taught America and Americans are not good. I drove School Bus for a good while and sister taught for the same school district. Seemed like the school was more baby sitting and teaching less that favorable, well, we didn't want our babies fed some of what they're teaching and decided to teach our family here with us through an Australian School of Distance. We helped bring that schooling into the computer age. One girl has graduated and the other will next year. We think it was the right choice.
