I've had freeze warnings too. Predicted 31 for a short while and you need to protect your pipes! Get real. I think they enjoy scaring people. When they start talking mid to low 20's for several hours I'll look at putting on my winter spigot protection.

I have had a couple of days with a decent frost, some stuff got knocked back or killed, basil for example. But a lot of stuff is still going strong. The Brussels sprouts that I'm growing for the first time look pretty good. Even the peppers and tomatoes don't look that bad.

yesterday morning went to take care of the chickens & stopped to be sure i got the last fish from the pond-yep last fish is out but there was a 1/8" of ice over the pond. i kept looking at that pond & even drained it down about 1/2 way over a month ago, but i had missed 1 last fish up till 1 week ago.

lots of leaves on the ground here but a few trees are still trying to stay green as long as possible. oak is known to hold onto those leaves till they think it's juuuust right-after you've picked up all the others. i have vacation this week & will be getting a lot of this picked up & cleaning done along with a few indoor projects i've been holding off for this week.

Way up here above the 35th parallel we haven't seen frost like that.
Oh sure, one day there was a skin of ice on the birdbath...

Another blue sky out there today. I'm so mixed up!

you could use them to make a kiwi jam/spread. i have a recipe i used to make a pineapple kiwi jam. it's really good when it is still warm but i mostly used it as a glaze on salmon or chicken to give it a tropical taste.

Wow, that is some frost there Major. All we've been getting is a lot of moisture in the mornings. My deck gets so wet and my zucchini is full of mold. But it's still giving a couple here and there so it's staying.
