Just checked...the moon sign's right for it, tomorrow. Think I'll give it a go, too. Been waiting for one of you pros to fire the "starting gun".

It's still a couple weeks too early for my tomatoes, but I am feeling the itch too! I thought I'd go ahead and do a few flats of herbs for now.

Got a wire shelf and some CFL lights out yesterday. Planted corn salad, leaf lettuce, CFW melon, and some red noodles beans. Next week I will start the 'maters and peppers....as soon as I find the rest of my light fixtures.

This weekend I will be starting some petunia's, a few herbs, and foxglove.

After waiting many years, hubby and I built a greenhouse last May, from recycled doors and windows. I will be able to put things out a little earlier this year! Cant wait!

What? Planting now? I thought I needed to wait until at least February? Don't I need 6 weeks until last frost date, or is it more? :hit I'm not ready.

You have time. Some of us are just nuts, have greenhouses, cold frames, or use wall-o-water type protectors.

Wall-o-water (or the redneck version - a circle of plastic jugs) will protect plants down to 16. Once the average night time temps are 20 or higher I can put stuff outside.

You have time... I know wife goes early because she busts out here little water warmers for her tomatoes ;)

I have a mini greenhouse on my deck, so I can move things out there early... so I am starting 2 weeks earlier then I probably should or normally should. I just got out my back-up plan! :)
