.....heal the hurting heart. Dirt has extremely strong healing properties, too. My garden has been "neglected" for soooo long (an eternity, to me). Several days since my sweetheart's passing has been spent with my hands "in the dirt". While spending time with "the kids" helps during this very difficult time.....there is, just, something about "quite" garden time, digging in the dirt, that helps heal the heart and spirit....in a VERY different way. I hope to be able, VERY SOON, to contribute to this GREAT forum family. While I have quitely visited several times....I, just, have a little ways to "go" to be able to concentrate on anything but the obvious, for very long at a time. I am sooooo VERY glad that I found this forum and the caring, kind people that, so freely and genuinely, share their love and love of gardening with each other. I am honored and thankful to be a part of the best gardening forum on the "net".

Yes Boggybranch...I so agree with you. This place is not just a gardening thing that we have in common but a connection to other people. Sometimes my family doesn't understand and wonder how I can care about people I don't know and haven't met, but I do. It saddens me to know what you are going through.

I think it must be because a gardener must work so closely with the cycles of life. There is such a soulful peace about it. You can't fight the seasons, they just come and go, and will come again.

You are very right about gardening being healing. There is something about the feel and smell of fresh soil that helps ease a person's soul.

Thinking about you. :hugs

X2!

Connections are important, even if they are via cyberspace. I have to admit, some of my dearest friends I have met through various forums.

I have met in person many people from many forums, yes it was weird at first, but in the end they are some of my dearest friends.

Trying not to ramble here, but to let you know, you have friends here, support, love and compassion.

Give a big hug to your daughter from me and stand strong.....

I hope this warm weather continues to allow you to have your time. It sounds like you have quite the sanctuary there with the dirt and plants and the sun on your back. :hugs
