Woot! SE Missouri is getting a rain! Now they're saying possible flooding already. From one extreme to another. I don't think it will last very long, but the crisp grass seems to be smiling. And I hear thunder!? What the????

We got some rain last night. I smiled when I heard the thunder. Amazing how a flood doesn't seem so bad when you've been in a drought.

Up here in east central IA, we can't seem to catch a break. Every time we are to get some rain it is all noise. :( It either piddles out by the time it gets to us, or goes North or South. Bummer. If you do get more than you need you could try sending it our way! Enjoy whatever you get.

Will do, Carol Dee. We didn't even have a chance of rain forecasted today. Ended up getting nearly 2 inches. I so hope you all get some rain soon. It really hurts to see all the plants dying around you, especially the ones you have been tending. And I can't even imagine how the farmers are handling it.

Did you go out and run around in it? :weee
Uh.....Can you see me from your house? :hide Seriously, we used to do that, back when it was easier to run! We still go out to the porch and watch the storms roll in.

I may have missed something. The drought in Georgia doesn't seem to be getting too much attention. I had thought that Storm Debby would amount to something there and that all of the swirling activity the last few days would bring some rain but it really seems like it all didn't amount to much. Reading a little Georgia news first of all tells about all the heat of the last few days and the imposed water restrictions - outdoor watering only on weekends but drip systems can run at any time.

We get some distance and conditions are kind of hazy. Even with not-so-far-away Denver - wow! hottest June on record!

I don't know if this forecast map brings any promise to most of the US: Pressures & Fronts thru Day 7. It looks to me that while there may be things going on today in the middle of the country, there may be a 6 or 7 day wait for something else to be going on in the way of rain. Perhaps AZ will have some relief but in much of the US, Heat prevails . . .

Here's kind of a quick NOAA way to check forecasts in the entire US: Click on a station, Day 3-7 forecasts
