Had to get the kitty a new collar, she lost her red one a few weeks ago somewhere in the house...

Nice view of the rolling hills, very pretty. I can't believe how big your bacon bits have gotten!

Sorry, no fall color pics. Meant it as pics taken in the autumn season.

These are all from today and with my real camera, so you can click the pictures and see larger versions for more detail.
They're the same height now! :ep Makes me wonder how big he will get!

He also didn't try walking off on me while I got situated in the saddle today, that was unexpected.
Locked out Billy's group to ride the gelding in this new area. Was hoping to ask for a trot for the first time, but there were fox hunters out today, high winds and the new area made him a bit spooky. Also put together some parts to make a different bridle. Puppy chewed up a blue sheep halter, so used it to hang the indian bosal off of.
Girth has been left loose last couple rides. No issues with it moving.
His spooks have been quick bolts forward, but he stops on a dime right after it, following my sudden yell of "hoe!!" Yea, I changed it from "whoah" to "hoe", just ended up saying hoe every time instead for some reason. :idunno
He's somehow decided that a crop tapping his side means he needs to keep moving forward. First time testing that out as a cue to keep him moving and it worked, he's so smart to of figured that out on his own. :clap
And, no, that wood board didn't spook him one bit! It was the crop that suddenly was a horse eating monster...lol, even though he was fine with it several times in between! One of the spooks was from the tall dead weeds, it flipped up and whacked him.

Ugh, IDK why it's sideways... But the black blobs above the dog are the piglets.

Chewy puppers. So different, yet so alike.

I love it that you're going bitless! I love what I read about that method of riding and wonder why in the world more folks don't use this method.

I used a rope halter until recently.
Jerry riged a "bit hanger" with a chewed up sheep halter.
It connects to the indian bosal on one side, up over the pole and to the other side of the bosal with a clip. I need to trim the excess rope on it still.

I hear they used to train w/o a bit, then later on, use the bit for refinement. But these days, things are all over the place. People seem to rather toss on more tack and tools instead of taking the time to train the horses... =/

The hill in your first photo reminds me a bit of Bag End from The Lord of the Rings movies. It would be a neat site for a hobbit hole. :)

Pic of the indian bosal and the self-made hanger for it.

I had originally gotten two custom made. Pictured two-tone grey one for my ex-grey mare and a pony sized brown one for, well, this guy! But it turns out he is not pony size, not always horse size and not draft or cob or nothing. His size is irregular and custom only. lol.
I'll post a pic of the brown one later today.
