This month I have had to replant 7 times due to birds! I have tried a scarecrow but it didn't work! They've gotten in my green house, and have absolutely been driving me insane! :barnie What can I do to stop them? Because right now I am the old lady from Mary Poppins... I'm feeding them my seeds by the bag!

Since you have posted two threads - how about using one for pictures ... or something. (Tricky way for me to ask for more input, eh? ;))

I'll be right back with an idea that worked for me :).

Here is what I have done to keep birds out of seed beds, Frontiergirl53.

I borrowed my daughter's cat ... Now, my DD has never owned a live cat. This was a toy :).

I moved it around to different locations couple times each day. It was never fully in view. Sometimes, that toy cat was crouched in a cardboard box or hiding behind the rhubarb leaves!

It was fun watching the birds' reactions when that cat first began to prowl those garden beds.

I think people put big rubber snakes in their garden to scare birds off. That would scare people off, too.
I am having problems with starlings getting in the chicken house, and in their yard. They have been pooping in the chicken's water and making a general mess, besides eating their food. Maybe I'll put some rubber snakes out there.
