My friend from yoga butchered hogs about a month ago, and brought me 7 lbs of lard. I froze it in about 1 lb containers, so it will keep, hopefully. I used some in biscuits this evening. Yum.
Three little picky-eater girls ate their fill of sausage gravy and biscuits. (so did one un-picky eater husband)

What’s your biscuit recipe? Sounds yummy!
let's see if I remember without looking at the recipe:

2 cups flour (or a little more, if you are rolling them out)
1 tblsp. baking powder
1 teas. salt
mix together, then cut in
4 tblsp. butter or shortening or lard
then add a cup of milk
Either roll out and cut, or hand shape onto ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 450 till browned on top, about 12 minutes. Makes 8 biscuits.

For strawberry shortcake, I just add two tablespoons of sugar to the recipe, and serve with sweetened "juiced" strawberries on top of a split biscuit.
