I've made it, April 15... and so have MANY of you!! Congratulations!!!

Today I have a dozen or more plants ready to transplant to outdoor spaces from the cold frame and today is what I was waiting for! It's a good thing because my 2nd round of seedlings are starting to move into the frame themselves today... which during this weather will serve as a hardening off frame :)

I still have a couple of beds to finish for sweet potatoes... due to arrive in a couple more weeks..... but otherwise, I'm basically ready to go and have had 1 tomato I babied growing outside for a couple weeks now, and 2 that were hardened off enough that I put them out last week and we did ok... so here come the rest!

We'll be putting a "lunch garden" out at my DH's workplace too but it's another 4 weeks until that last freeze date arrives. Plenty of time.

How are YOU doing on your last freeze date???!!

Yes, we are so thrilled we're out of the freeze zone. Funny how yesterday was the coolest day and night we've had in like 3 weeks though!

But I was pretty sure I was done with freezes and have been planting peppers and tomatoes anyways.

I feel like I can do ANYTHING now!!!

Where are those bean seeds?! ;)

Yep, v.....got some scarlet runner beans that I'm having a fit to plant. The only fence trellis I have that's tall enough for the vines (7 foot) is taken up by my sugar snaps. They, the sugar snaps, should "burn up" and be done in the heat that is right around the corner, soon, and I'll be able to plant the "runners".

Today is the official "last freeze date" here, too. We had an early spring, but a couple nights in the high 20s last week. Glad I waited and didn't get suckered by those daffodils blooming in March.
Today is predicted to be in the low 70s and only a few widely scattered clouds. Well! It has been raining for about half an hour. I can see blue sky in the distance all the way around me but here, rain. We need to get our seedlings into the ground today, or it will be another five days before we have the time. (Stupid work gets in the way of everything!) I'm glad for the rain, though.

I am not buying into that stock just yet. I had frost twice last week so I might hold just a bit more (but it is killing me :barnie) I have about 90 plants to set out so I am not up for waiting much longer.
