Just snow peas? Or could you do other varieties of peas? Ive got a few pole beans that haven't done much and would be willing to yank them to get some peas in for a late season. Some are doing great, others are not much to speak of so if I can replace them with something else I will.

Thoughts? The late season zone 5 post got me wondering, but I didn't want to thread jack so I thought Id start a new one.

Snow peas, snap peas, and english peas are all very cold and frost tolerant. They don't survive hard freezes very well.

Jared77, you could have hi-jacked the thread. No problem! It would be great to actually harvest some other veggies in the fall wouldn't it? :)

Yes it will be! I figure Ill be doing the fall potato thing, and we've got pumpkins so something green would be a welcome change. Ive got a variety of maters so I don't expect them to be done in time for any leafy greens, and Ill have zucchini and squash up till frost too. Thats why I thought something like a pea would be a good addition.

Snow peas for sure. I'm growing snow peas and alderman climbing peas. They've survived well throguh winter, but you want to make sure yo tie them up for extra support if you have high winds. We do, and several of mine fell over and broke off.
