LED lights

Hello,

I planted 3 kinds of flowers in a seed tray and now a lot of them are up. I have a greenhouse almost done but until then how high should I have my 40 watt LED light from the seedlings?

I don't know the answer to that. I used 4' shop lights-fluorescent- and propped them up on bricks right over the flats. I added more bricks as they grew to raise the lights. LOL

I start with my grow lights about 4" above plants.

No matter what light bulbs you use, the plants always seem to prefer being pretty close to the light and will grow leggy if any light is too far away. LOVE those LED LIGHTS!!!

The recommendation I've read is 2" above the tallest seedlings. That's not always easy once they start growing. Something that I found that helps a lot is to put reflective material to the sides. I just taped white paper and let it hang down.

We put ours 2”-4” above plants, any more than that and they start reaching for the light and get wispy. Also we have a fan blowing across the flats to strengthen the seedlings.
