I'm tossing this here out of the stereotype that most of the people on this board have kids.

I have three, soon to be four, kids and We have a fair share of legos. I'm tired of printing out instructions or dealing with some ripped up instruction booklet and I'm curious if anyone out there knows if the instruction booklets come in one single package.

Seriously, Lego has their Building Instructions site, which is great, but I would totally pay 45$ for all of those instructions in one hardcover book. Anyone know if that's actually an item somewhere?

Print it off. At any office shop, they have plastic covers or you can laminate them.

Lego Tips, Tricks and Building Techniques: The Big Unofficial Lego Builders Book

When you go to that Amazon page, there are a number of other book suggestions. But, at 400 pages, I'd think that there are lots of ideas in that 1 book.

Contact - Perhaps the company itself has a suggestion.

Wow, I never even thought there would be a book. I tried to find directions for K'nex projects, and they were all for bigger sets than we have, or so complicated....we didn't want to build the Eiffel Tower....

My whole point is I don't want to spend $75 printing and lamenting something if they already sell it. Plus, let's face it, my question has a certain level of laziness or "first world" feeling. I.e. I'm a bit busy so I'd rather pay the money for the book than print it and get a shop to laminate it if that's an option.

No answer to your question, but we were big Lego fans when the kids were young.
I know there are lots of specialized pieces and themed sets - my boys are men now, but they collected for years when they were kids, and we have a large storage bin type box full of Legos. They followed the directions and made the special sets the first time, then rebuilt them into something altogether different.

I think the beautiful thing about Legos is the creativity it unleashes.
My Kid#2 built a life size articulated hand that could open and close, for example, among other fascinating models.

Good luck in your quest. It seems like there must be several books of plans, Legos have been around forever.

Thanks. There are TONS of random books put out by different people, but I was hoping to just find a single book that had all the base instructions from Lego.

The hand project sounds quite genius :)
