After having great luck growing lemons with a Meyers lemon tree, I got a lime tree. All last summer and all winter (inside) it did nothing, looked healthy but didn't grow or flower. I was about to give up on it and give it to my cleaning lady . When I moved it outside this spring it started to grow new leaves, now it has 1 flower bud. Glad I didn't give it away now.

Good to hear. They will be deciduous in cooler areas (at least mine always were) so you have to give them an extra chance in the spring. I am glad to hear you are having better luck than I've had.

Nyboy, I had a dwarf improved meyer lemon in a pot that wasn't doing much. I planted it in the ground and it sat there for 2 years doing nothing! Finally this year it is growing gangbusters and produced some lemons. I keep trimming it to around 5' and all the lemons are at the bottom! There is plenty of growth on the upper part of the tree so I don't know why lemons aren't growing here.

I've had a bearss lime in a hugh pot for several years. It always produced tons of limes but they fell off when they were very tiny. I think I have a tendency to overwater. Finally this year it produced more than a couple limes. I am now watering only when I see the leaves a little wilted and fertilizing a couple times a year. Need these limes for my husband's coronas. ;) It's the only thing he has requested me to plant.

Watching this thread with interest. My Meyer lemon is looking real good. I have it in a 3 gallon pot in semi-shade. It is under the outer edges of the crepe myrtle tree, where it gets morning sun, but is shaded from the blistering mid afternoon heat. I love my little lemon tree!

Nyboy, I'v never fertilized my meyer in the ground. Yet, the lemons are the size of small basballs. I don't know why they are so big. But I'm pretty sure it's a meyer lemom. Yesterday my 23yr. old son went out to picked some lemons, made himself some lemonade, turned on some classical music, and sat down to read his book. He loves to read, just like his mom. :)

Nyboy, thanks for your offer but I already have citrus fertilizer. I use it on my potted lime but not my meyer that's in the ground. I'm really lazy when it comes to fertilizing. I keep telling myself I need to fertilize the rest of my plants in pots. The angel trumpet especially needs it. The leaves are greenish yellow.

I checked on Alex (my Myer lemon tree) this morning and there are new leaves! they were reaching for sunlight, so I moved Alex a little closer to the driveway for more light. The tree is on a brick walkway in the garden and will still get afternoon shade. But NEW LEAVES!!! :weee
