Looking for beginners cheese making book?

I've been looking at cheese making books. I read reviews online and wonder if I am getting any closer to choosing one.

I have take a basic cheese making course. What I need now is book that will talk to me about cheese making and maybe build in difficulty. Frankly it is really expensive making cheese, so my book is not meant to be the definitive work as my endeavors will be less than avid cheese makers.

Anyone have a book they love and why?

I have no idea about a book for you. Cheese making sounds like it would be fun to learn though. I have a cousin who makes goat cheese from her goats milk, she is just learning also. Good luck with it!

I have recently purchased a cheese recipe book from The New England Cheese Company. The book has very good beginner soft cheese recipes and then progresses to more difficult cheeses including hard cheeses. I am including the link to their web site if you care to look.

I have a couple of books that I use, one is The Complete Idiots Guide to Cheese Making by James Leverentz. It has some good explanations of what happens and why.
There are quite a few books out there. You might also look up Fiasco Farms on the internet, she has a lot of goat cheese recipes. I've nailed mozzarella and ricotta, cream cheese and other soft ones, but I am still struggling with the pressed hard cheeses like cheddar and jack. Can't get my temps right!
