I have called every nursery around me and cannot find started plants for the "Radiator Charlie's Mortgage Lifter" tomato plant. This year was a learning year for starting my own seeds. Well, it didn't work out and I've lost all my Mortgage Lifter seedlings. So would any of you have or know a reputable company to order some started plants from? I'm also looking for yellow pear but Lowe's has some of those if shipping is outrageous. Thanks, Melissa

*transplants* is going to be a toughie. Googling, I found this outfit that is still taking orders for mid-May shipping if that's not too late for you (and they are not real cheap either, but have a great selection and it does include Mortgage Lifter) http://heirloomtomatoplants.com/Heirloom -Tomato_Plants_Heirloom_Tomato _seeds.htm

(e.t.a. - oh wait, a *smarter* google produced these results http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&s..."+plants+price&btnG=Search&aq=o&aqi=&aql=&oq= which includes places like Gurney's that offer transplants of that variety, altho I have no idea what current availability status is. Go rummage around in those returns, hopefully you can find something)

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

patandchickens,

Glad you posted this. I found "davesgarden" which had reviews. Most people liked them for the amount and size produced, but the negatives were the taste, which is said to be mild.

I have now changed my mind again, lol. I don't want to pay that much for a tomato that I'm not sure I'll even like. I wait and try next year, from seed again. :/

Anyone have a "heritage" tomato they like that produces well and has a STRONG ACIDIC tomato flavor? I might try another one I can find locally.
