So did a few of the exchanges and winter sowed some of the seeds. I had wonderful results.

1. I got a ton of rose of sharon (from ducks I think) and now have 40+ lavender each with 2/3 seedlings in pots. I will cut it down as soon as they are past their first leaves.

2. Baptista (I don't remember from who, but thanks!) and I have like 8.

3. Mystic Merlin (I don't remember from who, but thanks!) loving it. They wintersowed great and I hope not to kill them.

The rose of Sharon I will plant along my fence line to block it with beautiful flowers. And my only regret is that I thought I planted at least some of the pink rose of sharons. And I accidentally ended up with a purple garden (when you add the purple coneflower also). So what goes with purple?

And if you have any advice on care and not killing I love to hear it!

I'm eagerly looking forward to some of my acquisitions from the seed exchange as well, got so many neat things! Some of my trades have germinated better for me than the catalog-bought varieties.

I think yellow is nice with purple. With soft shades you can also add some whites in the mix. For bolder shades I've seen red, orange and purple go very well together, a very energetic combination.
