I have always wanted to do this, and I've done some online research. Does anybody else here saw down their unwanted saplints and watersprouts and weave them into garden fencing I would love some feedback. Usually, I chop them down and just burn them, but I have some uses, a GREAT DEAL of the raw product and plenty of time to make the fencing over this winter. Any comments are welcome. :D

I don't know how, but would be interesting in learning. I've got plenty of saplings here, too.

I know that the Natives tribes in the southeastern US planted circular gardens (picture circles of beans, corn, and squash inside) and used a similar method to fence the area to keep animals out. Gives a new meaning to "crop circles" - doesn't it? :)

I've got a pile of the prunings from the crepe myrtles that I was going to make into a little fence... they've been sitting next to the driveway for almost a year now.

might be time to add them to the burn pile.......

I played around with weaving when I pruned my tart cherry trees and thought to use them to stake tomatoes. I think you want to weave with freshly pruned saplings bc they are still flexible, but you could weave around old and dry sapling sticks, too. :D
