How do I tell the difference between the male and female flowers of cucumbers? I have bought a packet of seeds called (F' PRIMA TOP), if that's any help.

I don't know much about this sort of thing (I've lived a sheltered life).

But, this may help. Notice that the female flower is attached to the ovary. Or, the ovary is a part of the female flower, I suppose is a better way to say it . . .

And, the ovary is what grows into the cucumber . . . uh, fruit!

(Starting sentences with conjunctions is becoming a habit. Because, I do it a lot . . . )

With the few varieties of cucumber I have grown, I have always found that the female flower does have a tell-tale "mini cucumber" attached to the bloom, even before any pollination has taken place.
