And in non-gardening news, I've taken leave of my senses and volunteered to be my 6 year old son's soccer coach. I haven't played soccer since elementary school, or coached before, or know the rules. But at least I volunteered so they get to play, right?
You planted fruit trees in containers?Well I'm super tired. Got a 1/2 cubic yard of veggie mix soil from local place and loaded into the garden by myself. That was hauling approx 1,000lbs around to the backyard. I love having a pickup. I planted the orange and apple tree. I still need to plant the blueberry.
Some pictures including the present for my awesome little helper from the garden fairies.View attachment 30832 View attachment 30833
Yes, my fruit trees are in 22 gallon containers for two reasons: I'm renting the house and the backyard is full of utility easements. I can and will move the trees up to 275 - 330 gallon IBC containers later if needed. They will join my bird of paradise in my plant collection when we move. You planted fruit trees in containers?
You don't need to know any of that when they are 6. My kids all played, my husband coached all of them at some point for all of their sports. Just a heads up with 6 year olds. Some will cry when then get one the field, some won't get on the field. 1 of 3 of my daughters boys did that a bit. They get over it. She coaches them all and does all of the volunteer things her Dad did. The funniest thing with my youngest Grandson at t-ball. When I arrived to watch him he went up to his coach and tapped on his arm and told him the had to leave the field to say HI to his Grandma. They are a hoot. Their are a ton of u-tube videos for you to use for things to do with them. And in non-gardening news, I've taken leave of my senses and volunteered to be my 6 year old son's soccer coach. So its a good thing I started 10 each of the peppers. I was foolish and moved them closer to the window before I left for the weekend. They sun burned / dried out. I am down to 4 of each. All the watermelons are doing good though.
Our spring break trip had a great start with a birthday party at UrbanAir for cousin. Sunday we were fishing at spillway near MILs. I slipped and fell cracking my tibia. And then while hubby was getting the pickup, my son fell in. My SIL jumped in and fished him out. He's okay but I own my SIL a new iPhone. Expensive "free" fun activity with the cousins. Getting a head start on that insurance deductible...
