here's how it went. three of us go in the barn with seven goats. one is missing so one person goes w/dog to find goat. one person pulls medications, one person wrestles goats to medicate, third person finally comes back from looking for goat that has been present for quite some time because said person told the dog to go get the goat. dog did what he was told & then laid down. third person's job then is to kick them out of the barn after they've been medicated so we don't double dose anybody - then wrangle in the next goat.

DONE! whew! until tomorrow night & the next & the next - for A WEEK!!!

Just think of all the great exercise you are getting!! :lau

Now reward yourself with some Bluebell ice cream........... :thumbsup

So what do you do with all of your goats Bj? I tried goat meat once, I didn't care for it.

BBQ Monty, BBQ !!! I invited "Billy the Kid" to a BBQ... place whole carcass on a pipe rotissery over an open pit, covered with a rub, poured a can of beer over it to baste every 15 min. untill done. Add home made potato salad, some beer and wine then when 13 guests all became satiated, they asked for more. MMMMmmmmm!!! Great fixens, if I say so myself ! :drool

we got the goats because we have a place that is very brushy & is a serious fire hazard. wow, goats do work for that. this is the herd that had the injured goats that my dog hurt. all were fine except one. she is still struggling. THEN their poop went south & the vet said I had worms & cocci both. the cocci is what is taking a week to treat.
I don't like being new to this. I don't like this corid because it causes thiamine deficiency. my problem is i'm not literate enough on these issues yet to buck what the vet says. so, i'm going to watch everybody closely.

I haven't had goat meat yet - but i'm sure up for it. I think i'll like it.

I think the name for goat meat is chevon or something like that, not sure how that is pronounced. I can slaughter anything with my Texas drawl and accent. But in our neck of the woods, goat meat is called cabrito. Texas used to belong to Mexico and we were called Texicans. Spanish words are common here and are part of our lingo.
