How do you find them?

I posted a link on TEG a couple of years ago for my BackYardChickens page. Otherwise, I'd have no idea of where to find it. (And, I had to do some searching around TEG because I forgot why I posted the link.)

I don't get over there much any more but have, kind of, felt that I knew my way around. I wonder how people find their member pages.

Well I can't even remember what my name was over there....I joined there first and then came here.

I like chickens, but I love gardening!

Steve, I found mine by clicking on "My Profile" then I scrolled down to "recent activity" and it was there. After clicking on "Journey11's Page", I could see in blue toward the top "BackYard Chickens>Member Pages>" and was able to click on "Member Pages" from there. Then it shows several options: "Learning Center | Coops | Member Pages | My Chickens | Laws | Recipes", but looking from the main page ("Home"), I have no idea how to get back there, other than this long way. I rarely go over there anymore either. Figure I already know all I want to know about chickens maybe? :p Besides, I am too busy over here pestering you guys! :D

ETA: Well, now I feel dumb! Just started clicking everything and I found it directly under the tab for "Learning Center". Seems like an odd place to put it. :/

Wow!

I was preparing to say that I still couldn't find it - but, there it is. Did a page search for "page."

Right in amongst my posts is a link to my BYC page! There are 2 pages and they have that little puzzle piece icon. I'm wondering if they were there before I clicked "More." They are actually in line with the dates on my posts as tho' associated with "activity" or, were they always there at the bottom . . ?

It doesn't matter since I have a bookmark in the computer to find them.

We may have to prepare ourselves for a new server for TEG. I know it really "pulled the rug" out from under some of the BYC people. That's too bad. It does take some more time out of our other "activities" to adjust. A bit of trouble, a bit of work.

Lovely sunrise here ! I finally spent 8 hours in a horizontal position, can't say I was always asleep. That in itself is unusual because 6 hours is much more my habit. Running down to 3 & 4 because of sore digitS' on my left hand was really starting to affect just about everything I did . . . or, didn't .

If anyone is interested in the reason I was searching for my pages:

Vfem asked about coop plans about a week ago. I have a page that shows a layout for a 4' by 8' coop. It was too small for what V had in mind and, it really isn't a plan.

No, I just did a Paint drawing of the floor, walls & roof framing. There are no board measurements. It was just that I have built 2 coops of that size and also, 1 smaller & 1 larger. The better 4' by 8' coop had 2 windows instead of doors but I wanted to see how I could have used a smaller window, instead of kind of French doors.

I went from this interest in a 4' by 8' coop to one even smaller. I think all of this may have been a result of living with, what I see as a large coop in my small back yard for the last 10 years. It is 7' by 8'. My 4' by 4' coop design will have to wait until I have the nerve to take a picture of that house I drive past sometimes. Yeah, that house would be perfect as a coop/chicken tractor .

Congratulations on your horizontalness Steve. Pain is something to be dealt with when we're awake of course, but it becomes so much more overwhelming when we just want to be able to sleep.

Steve, how many regular chickens do you keep in a 4 by 8 house? I started with 6, down to 4 now, and want to get about 4 more. The roost is only 4' long, but they all crowd onto one end, anyway. I can rig up another roost, to cut down on squabbling. I know the answer to my question depends somewhat on how much yard space they have, and if they free range ever. 12 by 12 yard, and they free-range about 4 hours per day.

Let's see . . . 35 Cornish X's went out one half of the coop to their pen and the other side had 3 or 4 laying hens . . . Of course, that was only for little while. Then the hens had it all.

The other 4' by 8' had 3 hens.

The smaller one, and I no longer remember the size but I think it was 4' by 6' - had between 6 and up to 8. I had 9 roosters in the barn as they grew up. When I got them outta there, the 8 moved to the barn and I couldn't get the hens back into that tiny coop. Should have set up some "rooster decoys" in the barn.
