I have been kicking around the idea of getting a Pomegranate tree. There is one that MIGHT be hardy in my zone. The listing says needs hot summer to ripen, that,s what stopped me.While July and August here are in the high 90s I didn't know if that was long enough. @Smart Red pointed out to me, that I could use my solar shed to increse hot days. So simple yet I never thought of using shed in summer/Fall. My mind was only thinking of using for over wintering. Has a member ever given you advice that was so simple you can't believe you never thought of it?

Nearly every day. Seeing the gardening adventure from other members' view points is one of the fun parts of this site.

I can't cite anything specific right now, but it's happened over and over.

Several years ago, I planted 2 pomegranates in Cal.. Beatiful plants and thrived. However the fruits were hard as rocks and very difficult to open ( finally resorted to a hammer ) to eat the prize of a treat. Turned out not so tastey. We sold that property , so I don't know how the new owners feel about them.
